sundry topics

Hey y'all! I felt a need to get that y'all out. I've been stuck on the West coast for the past 3 days for work....and the Californians are gettin' to me...need to remember my roots. It's a whole different world here. I have enjoyed staying in a hotel...someone comes in and makes the bed...cleans the bathroom...I could get used to this! AND I slept in Saturday morning! (that never happens) All in all, been a good, productive trip so far. I've had a lot of insights the past couple of days...specifically, insights about my current job and long-term career. The next few months promise to be exciting! Will keep you posted, if / when things progress.

This Sunday afternoon called for a nap. I haven't taken an afternoon nap since last Summer! What a shame! I think my body was made for warm weather and naps.

Also, I'm watching the State of the Union on YouTube now, while eating dinner. (I'm about 5 days late...oops! Better late than never, I guess.) Anyway, do the people in the audience + Speaker Pelosi + Vice President Biden ever get tired of the whole stand-up/sit-down thing? Literally...every other minute! Craziness!

Did you know Panera has come out with a new seasonal cookie? It's their Valentine shortbread cookie. One word: YUM! It's basically the same as the Pumpkin cookie they had at Halloween time, but the Valentine one is heart-shaped, with pink icing, and pink sprinkles. And did I mention....it's SHORTBREAD!!!

Ok, I just jumped over to YouTube, and President Obama was recognizing his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama on her effort to create a taskforce in 2010 to tackle the epidemic of childhood obesity. (1) I think what she's going to do is just great. Let's love on these kids a little bit and give them some attention. (2) Also, did anyone else think her hair was AWESOME?? Seriously. It's just a regular "bob" haircut, but it just looked lovely!

Which brings me to my next topic, what do I do with my hair???? I have dead ends, bangs that are growing out, and uneven layers. I also want to grow it out a little bit to "prepare" for this Summer's travel, which will be one without a hair straightener or hair dryer. Do I cut it now? Do I just get a trim? Do I remain status-quo? Hair drives me crazy.

That's all, y'all! Not too much "exciting" going on. Living life. Loving what God is doing and teaching me. Can't ask for much more than that.
