life goals -- 1.31.2012

Last week's work trip was sort of a disaster. I didn't exercise, I didn't have my God-time in the mornings, and after four days, I was totally and completed exhausted--physically and emotionally.

This week's work trip? Albeit shorter than four days, it was a huge success. I learned my lesson. I worked out, had my quiet times, journaled like a crazy person, and even found some time to sight-see. Oh, and I finished The Circle Maker.

Speaking of which....

I made a life goal list. The author shared his list toward the end of the book and challenged readers to come up with their own, as a way to document and realize dreams. That "at some point in the process of goal setting, you need to muster up the courage to verbalize it. That act of verbalization is an act of faith." Besides, it was God's idea in the first place, "Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets." (Hab. 2:2 NASB)

So here it goes. I took the author's idea and divided up my life goals into a few categories:
  1. Experiential Goals - things I want to experience or be a part of.
  2. Physical Goals - things I want to accomplish health-wise.
  3. Family Goals - dreams I want to realize for my immediate family and my future family (future hubby + kids). Just so you all know, almost every single goal in this section brought me to tears.
  4. Financial Goals - things I want to accomplish with my financial resources.
  5. Influential Goals - things I want to accomplish with the talents and skills God has given me.
I will keep this as a running list and update it as I think of new things and each time I add something, I will do a post and link back to this original one, in case anyone cares. :)

These goals are not in any specific priority order. Also, you may think some of these numbers are big and others are too small. Hope none of these goals disappoint - I documented what I felt called to document. I'm convinced of Eph. 3:20, so my numbers may even just end up being a moot point.

Enjoy!
