the fastest entry I'll ever write

I am overwhelmed with guilt for not updating my blog these past couple weeks! With some crazy travel plans coming up in the next few weeks, I can't promise consistent entries, so even though I need to be up in 5 hours to catch a flight, I'm putting sleep aside in an effort to catch you all up on my summer so far! Here is to the fastest entry I'll ever write. (Warning: there is absolutely no transition between paragraphs - so you'll find that each one is completely random - that's just how my brain is working at the moment!)

Time started: 9:59 PM

My summer has gotten off to an AMAZING start! As much as I frustrate my self sometimes with my own quirks and faults, I love my life. More importantly, I love the people God's placed in my life. Aside from my stellar family, who I love very very much, I'm re-learning the importance of having a few close, girl friends. People who you can share life with, laugh with, cry with, share your faith journey with, encourage, admire, and learn from. I have many girl friends in my life - from all different backgrounds and each of whom I love for different reasons. It occurred to me last week that I sometimes take them for granted, when in reality I don't know what I would do without them. These friendships mean so much to me. Whether they are near or far, my life is enriched daily by these relationships and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Absolutely nothing.

Secondly, I love technology! Sounds geeky, I know - but I'm totally serious! In the past week, I've found that my ENTIRE family from India is now on Facebook! We're all Facebook "friends"! This is adding a whole new and different dynamic to my "social networking." I haven't talked to some of these family members in years, and now with a click of a button, we're able to keep up with each other's daily lives through status updates etc...it's TOO COOL!

This summer has been a summer of firsts for me already. I had my FIRST EVER CHILI DOG! Thanks to Skyline Chili, I was able to experience an American tradition - and that too on the 4th of July weekend - how ironic! Also, on 4th of July, I had my first lake experience! Tubing, (attempt at) wake boarding, house-boating, water sliding (with life jackets, of course!) - we pretty much did it all! It was amazing and I learned something about myself - I love water sports! And I am dead-set on learning to wake board. :)

Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God." <-- I actually did this on July 3rd at Red River Gorge. I'll be honest, sitting still was probably one of the top 5 hardest things I've done in a long time. When did I become so antsy? Anyway, RRG helped me recharge - something I've been needing to do for a while.

School's over! I am officially done with 1 year of grad school. I cannot even believe it. Only 2 years left - and if I plan it correctly, only 1.5 more years left! Oddly enough, while I won't "miss" school for the next 6 weeks, I am actually really enjoying my grad school classes. I always said I could "never" work full time and go to school part time. But as I learned in my last Bible study, by the grace and power of Jesus "I can do things I thought I couldn't!" Amen!

Time check: 10:15 PM

Better hit the sack - flight departs at 5:30 AM. I've got my boarding pass and everything so all I need to do is wake up, get ready, get to the airport and go through security straight to the gate.

Thanks for putting up with my A.D.D. in this entry. I'm not even proofreading it - this is the first and final cut.

I can't wait to see what this week holds in CA! One thing I know, work will be hectic - it usually is when I go out there. I am going to be meditating on this verse the whole time:

"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, love, and of self-discipline."
~2 Timothy 1:7

See you later, alligator!
