I was in a wedding recently (and a SUPER FUN one too, might I add!) and all the bridesmaids wore black dresses and these awesome shoes! Sorry, not the best view of the shoe, but you get the gist. Pink, satin, peep-toe, HEELS. I have to admit, I helped chase them down by calling outlet stores all over the country, because I was adamant on finding enough pairs, one for each bridesmaid, but I was very nervous because heels and I don't mix. I have extremely flat feet - so much that the doctor flagged me as "severe flat feet" and because of that now, my insurance covers special inserts for my shoes. Yep, no arch. So, what did I do? I made sure to break them in before the wedding so that I could enjoy the wedding and not whine about my feet. Ok - so I ended up whining anyway, but only a little. I started wearing them around the house at the end of May. Took the trash out, vacummed, went to check the mail, wore them when I was standing and folding laundry, or dishes...just random household chores. In these sassy shoes. For one objective: to break them in!! One time, one of my neighbors even saw me taking the trash out in them--she laughed...not at the shoe, but the fact that I was still in my PJ's. Sight for sore eyes, but gave a good laugh.
Anyway, I built up the pain tolerance so much that I barely even hurt on the wedding day! Don't get me wrong, it still hurt, but my tolerance had built, so it wasn't as bad. I can wear heels.

So, then, as if that weren't enough. I'm out with my sister shopping, and we go to Payless. They're having a 'deal' - of course. And what do I see? THESE:

Yes, they are another pair of heels. And YES, they are TALLER!!! Pandora's box. I slip them on, and they are comfy. They also go perfectly with this dress I got last weekend, so naturally I had to buy them. So, I did. I wore them around the house the other day, and didn't even hurt. I can wear heels.
Oh, I would be remiss if I didn't offer a picture of the beeeeautiful wedding and the bride:
Simply beautiful.
Me and the bride! What a privilege to be part of her special day. Love her.
Me and the friend who introduced me to the bride! Love her too! And never cease to be amazed at how God works!
*Note: please pay special attention to our shoes!
