There have been so many things I've wanted to blog about the past few days, but I either didn't have a good internet connection, or when I did have internet, I didn't have the energy to write. So, here we go (this is not even half my actual list)...
- Being in Louisville lately is making me nostalgic. I even had a random thought of moving back home at some point (no timeline). Then the feeling overwhelmed me, so I plucked it right out of my brain. I will say though, there is no place like home.
- God answers prayers in big ways. I mean HUGE. If I started writing about all the prayers I'm seeing him answer in the past couple of weeks, I'd be writing for days, so I'll just leave it at that. Luke 1:45 has found a renewed meaning in my heart: "Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!"
- I'm ready for Spring Break! Even though my spring "break" will consist of me going to California to slog and have 12-hour work days on 8-hour pay, I'm ready for a week without school. It couldn't come soon enough, because I'm fearfully getting burned out...I say "fearfully," because there are still a lot of classes left, plus lots of assignments left before this crazy Spring semester is over. So, hopefully having one week off will get my head back on straight.
- Earthquake in Chile. Tragedy. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the cover of NY Times. Didn't we just have one in Haiti? And Japan? Another one? Lord, what do we make of this? I had a sobering memory of Matthew 24, which talks about the end times. Specifically v. 7 - 8: "...There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains." Thinking about this gives me chills.
- I randomly ran 3.1 miles yesterday! I haven't run since mid-November 2009, but I still felt really good when I finished! Payback comes now though...I cannot move my legs, and anytime I laugh, my abs and sides HURT! To get back into running or to not get back in running? That is the question.
Sometimes we need slow weeks to help us relax, refocus
